100 meters! This piece explores how art interacts with public spaces and their communities.

This creation was part of urBAN, an inspiring artist-led public art project that brings creativity into the heart of our shared environments. urBAN champions the idea that art should be accessible, engaging, and a catalyst for conversation in the spaces where we live and work.

Working on this drawing allowed me to push the boundaries of my practice, embracing the challenges of scale and the dynamic interplay between art and its surroundings. Every meter tells its own story, yet together they form a cohesive narrative, weaving themes of connection, movement, and transformation.

Kate O'Keeffe, born and raised in Portugal, now lives and works in Brighton, UK. She earned her BFA from the University of the Algarve in Faro.
As an artist, O'Keeffe delves into themes of the cosmos, nature, organic forms, trees, roots, and untouched landscapes—places free from human intervention.
Her work navigates a dynamic spectrum of scales, from the intimate familiarity of roots to the vast, ungraspable dimensions of the cosmos. This exploration bridges the tangible and the transcendent, inviting viewers to reflect on their place within these realms.
O'Keeffe translates these concepts into a diverse range of mediums, including painting, sculpture, installation, video, and urban art, creating pieces that resonate with both earthly and otherworldly perspectives.
